Looker Studio (Beta)
Chart your AI visibility beside Google Analytics in Looker Studio, from the REST API.
Beta
The fields may still change, and a report built on one that changes will need its chart rebuilt. Installing means pasting two files into Apps Script yourself. When you authorise it, Google may say the app is unverified: it is your own copy, so choose Advanced → Go to (project name). Anything odd, write to [email protected].
The Looker Studio connector reads the same figures as the Overview and Ranking pages, through the REST API, so it needs the Scale plan and an API key. Every rate comes with the number of answers behind it, so a chart can show what the product shows: a share is not a reading without its sample.
What you get
Two tables, picked when you add the data source:
| Table | Fields |
|---|---|
| Daily visibility, per brand | Date, Brand, Is you, Visibility, Answers (your brand’s sample) |
| Brands over the window | Brand, Is you, Visibility, Share of voice, Win rate, Average position, Sentiment, Answers |
Visibility and the other shares are fractions; Looker Studio shows them as percentages. The daily table blends with Google Analytics on Date, which puts AI visibility and the visits it sends on one chart.
Install
The connector is a small Apps Script project you add to your own Google account, so your key never leaves it.
- Open script.google.com and create a project.
- Replace
Code.gswith Code.js. - In Project Settings, tick Show “appsscript.json” manifest file, then replace it with appsscript.json.
- Deploy → Test deployments → Looker Studio, and open the link.
- Paste an API key from Settings → Connect AI → API keys when asked, then pick the brand, the table and the window (1–365 days, 90 if blank).
Limits
- The daily table carries the six leading brands of the window, as the Overview chart does; the brands table carries every one.
- Rival rows in the daily table have no sample of their own; read them beside your brand’s, which is the same set of answers.
- A day with too few answers is noise. Chart a week or more, as the product does.
- The figures are as fresh as the last sampling pass; the connector does not start one.
